Gluten Free Resturants

Here is a list of good gluten free restaurants available across the UK. There are some terrible named and shamed restaurants at the bottom. Feel free to contact me and let me know your thoughts/additions.

Nationwide restaurant with a full Gluten Free menu including pizza and pasta

Bella Italia

Nationwide. Gluten Free Pasta and Pizza is available on request. Check out the menu and the allergen information.

Read my review of Bella Italia, Granby Street Leicester here

London. INCREDIBLE MUSSELS. No need to order anything else.

The Boot Room

{Modern European}

Leicester, wonderful food and all cooked fresh and easily adaptable menu. My review is available here

{Farm House Fare}

South Cave, East Yorkshire. Lovely big independent farm shop set in the wonderful county of Yorkshire.

Leicester. Adorable local cafe, amazing gluten free sandwiches

Firebug Bar

{Bar Food}

Leicester, Quirky and cool, excellent burgers, jackets, chilli and sarnies. Take a look.

Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Nationwide. Apparently the burgers are gluten free, so you can order them without buns. I’m sure they wouldn’t mind if you brought your own bun too. The chips are not gluten free. *UPDATE COMING SOON*

Handmade Burger Company

Nationwide. Here is their allergy menu. I haven’t tried it myself, would love to. I think its similar to the GBK in the burgers being GF.

Honest Burger

London. Camden, Soho, Brixton, Portobello. I love it here. LOVE IT.

Jamies Italian

Nationwide. I cant find anything on the menu labelled gluten free, but they do have GF pasta so I’m guessing the range is good. Menu.

Leicester, Cute, local place. Cafe by day and restaurant by night. Have a looksies…

Across the Midlands. Absolutely Delicious. Cater well for Gluten Free. Menu.

Las Iguanas

{Latin American}

Nationwide. A fusion of native Latin American Indian, Spanish, Portuguese and African influences. Good gluten free options including, tapas, salad and chilli. Here’s the menu.

La Tasca

Nationwide. Lots of tapas options. All clearly labelled on the menu. Love Love Love this restaurant. Haven’t been since going gluten free.

Le Bistro Pierre

Midlands. A wonderful restaurant, brilliant knowledge of gluten free. An extensive menu is available.

{Fast Food}

Nationwide. Food food doesn’t get better than this. Promise. Have a look for yourself.

Marks and Spencer’s Cafe

Nationwide. I had a bad experience here resulting in a £5 gift card as an apology. Each cafe differs so I wouldn’t judge on what I’ve said. They don’t have a specific gluten free menu, They do have jacket potatoes though. If you’re going to eat here, I’d suggest getting something from their brilliant gluten free supermarket range and eating that instead. The cheese ploughman is lovely!

{Fast Food}

Worldwide. In the UK the chips are gluten free. If you go for breakfast, you can get a ‘big breakfast’ but exchange the muffin for hash browns. If you take your own bun they can make a burger for you. (Check with your local restaurant first)

My Old Dutch

{Pancake House}

London. Gorgeous pancakes: Chelsea, Holburn and Kensington.

Worldwide. Brilliant for Gluten Free, Very knowledgeable staff and a ‘bible’. All sides are GF (apart from the garlic bread). Chicken (full, 1/2 and 1/4, wings) is gluten free. Here is the menu. Check with the staff if you’re unsure.

The Old Horse

Leicester. Had a lovely Sunday Lunch, read my Review here.

Pizza Hut

Worldwide. Have a read of my review. Wonderful gluten free pizzas, and a great salad bar (if you get there early and its still out for cross contamination). Here is the menu and nutritional information.

Pizza Express

Worldwide. Not worth it in my opinion. If you bring your own base they will put a topping on for you. Its a bit embarrassing and not quite the same. Here is the allergen advice.

Nationwide. I loved my pizza here, (when it was eventually sorted) nice base and good choice from the menu. Read my review here. All the classic pizzas are available gluten free. In addition, here is the allergy advice.

{Fish and Chips}

Whitby, North Yorkshire. Wonderful fish and chips, the best I’ve ever had! Read more on my review

They don’t have a gluten free menu. Here is the regular menu. They can cater for Coeliacs, Check with the staff: they have an allergen advice booklet in the kitchen. I had a really nice salad last time I went.

Sails Cafe

Skidby Mill, East Yorkshire. Cute little cafe set with a windmill backdrop. Lovely tea and cakes.

{Coffee Bar}

Worldwide. They have gluten free tuna and egg sandwich made with genius bread, gluten free brownie and ham hock. All the drinks are gluten free (bar the vanilla sprinkles I think). Read more in the review here.

{Modern European}

Leicester. Set in a lovely old building, this cute little pub doubles up as a restaurant. Make sure you book in advance, I turned up on a whim and was disappointed by their bar menu with very limited Gluten Free options. Here is my review (when we did book)

TGI Fridays

Worldwide. Huge gluten free menu, available here.

{British pub}

Nationwide. I’m always in here, nachos, steak and apple crumble! What more could you ask for? Check out my review. Have a look at the gluten free menu you can create your own with different dietary requirements.

They have a special gluten free menu, available here. They have gluten free pasta available on request. I had a lovely meal. unfortunately I went before i made my blog so I have no review.

  1. Wow, thanks for the list. I’ve only been to London once, but would love to go again and now I have some places to eat when I do.
    Also, thanks for stopping by my blog and liking the recipe.

  2. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog.
    It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to
    get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and
    visual appeal. I must say you have done a very good job with this.
    In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Internet
    explorer. Outstanding Blog!
