1 Pain au Chocolat- Genius
I always come back time and time again to these cheeky little pastries. Much better than the croissants- they’re the perfect Sunday morning breakfast with fresh strawberries and a flat white.
2 Sunday Lunch
This gorgeous Sunday Lunch came from The Cricketers on Kew Green. The only good thing about this wash-out of a summer, is it’s not too hot to have Sunday Lunch!
3 Pizza Express
If you haven’t hear about the new Pizza Express dough balls…then I’m not sure where you’ve been! We popped in for a pre-theatre treat to try them out. They’re amazing! Well worth a trip. Followed by a tasty florentine pizza, although the egg was a bit overdone for my liking 😦 .
hahahah….they still make me laugh. What a disaster! Fun to try and make!
5 Tamari Sauce
Tamari sauce has been on the periphery of my consciousness for a while, but I’ve just not got round to buying it. I’ve always loved Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine, but never really made it myself since being GF. However this Gluten Free Soy Sauce, is really tasty. Apparently you do need to be careful as some tamari sauce can have a teeny bit of wheat! However this one from Kikkoman is certified!
6 Cauliflower Rice Salad
Cauliflower rice- kind of a fad at the moment. However, we had a healthy food day at work, where everyone brought in a homemade vegan and gluten free dish instead of Payday Pizza! I heard James Martin bang on about this Asda recipe on the radio so thought I’d give it a go. My top tip: make this the day before to allow the cauliflower to absorb all the flavours. I tried it straight after making it and thought it was really gross- it just tasted if raw cauliflower…..but the next day it was like an entirely different dish! Recipe is here
Christmas…in June….I know what your thinking…”Beth has gone crazy”. Well I was invited to my first ever press event this month. To have a look at whats coming up christmas 2016 with Waitrose. I’ll do a full christmas sneak peek later in the year, but there is plenty of salted caramel, gorgeous gluten free fruit cakes, cheeky blackcurrant pavlovas and some incredible mulled wine olives.
How was your June? Have you tried any of the gorgeously gluten free things I’ve been loving this month? Let me know in the comments below.
Love Beth x
